Medical Cannabis

Dr. Podolny will facilitate patients with the application for the Hawaii State Department of Health Medical Marijuana License (329 Card). Currently, the only conditions warranting the use of medical marijuana are the following.

As defined in section 121 of HRS-329, a qualifying debilitating medical condition includes “cancer, glaucoma, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, or the treatment of these conditions” or “a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition or its treatment that produces one or more of the following: Cachexia or wasting syndrome, severe pain, severe nausea, seizures, including those characteristic of epilepsy, or severe and persistent muscle spasms, including those characteristic of multiple sclerosis or Crohn’s disease.”

The Hawaii State health department charges $38.50 for the card which needs to be paid by credit or debit card at the time of the application. The cost for the physical exam and application which takes about 45 minutes to one hour is $200 for which cash or credit cards are accepted.

Dr. Podolny appreciates the importance of providing an avenue for all individuals with qualifying health issues to be able to use medical marijuana. Per the recommendations of the Hawaii State Department of Health this service can only be provided to those who are either willing to be, or already established, as his patients.
